For individuals to perform optimally throughout their life with varying levels of mental and physical difficulty, they must place as much emphasis on nutrition programming to support that performance as they do on physical and cognitive health.
Lynsey Harris BSN, RN, NC-BC
Meet Lynsey, our holistic expert lead on nutrition.
Lynsey is a passionate and professional nurse, holistic health coach, and advocate for a whole foods plant-based diet. She is also a reiki practitioner, adventure seeker, and devoted environmentalist. Lynsey graduated university with a bachelor’s in nursing and has served several years as a registered nurse in various practices and specialties. She has also served as a health educator, teaching healthy life skills to participants of recovery programs. Throughout her career, Lynsey witnessed flaws and opportunity for improvement with the current treatment-based health care model. From this blossomed her passion for preventative care, lifestyle medicine and healthy nutrition. She deeply believes in the power of holistic wellness and its ability to transform lives. As a result, Lynsey furthered her professional training to become a Board-Certified Health Coach through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation so that she could better serve as preventative care professional. Lynsey has since opened her own online coaching business, where she privately practices holistic wellness and lifestyle coaching. Her focus is on supporting and empowering women to achieve their health and wellness goals, enabling them to lead healthy, happy, and fulfilled lives. She is committed to helping women break free from the revolving door of the healthcare system and instead thrive in all aspects of life. Lynsey passionately believes in the power of integrated nutrition to support whole life wellness. Drawing from her personal experience and expertise, Lynsey is an advocate and expert of a whole foods plant-based lifestyle. She has witnessed firsthand how adopting this approach can alleviate health conditions, enable sustainable weight loss, boost emotional well-being, and deepen the connection with oneself and the world. Lynsey values the integration of physical, emotional and spiritual wellness, and is passionate about teaching others how to optimize their well-being through whole foods nutrition and lifestyle modalities. In addition to her dedication to supporting others on their health journeys, Lynsey leads by example when it comes to living life to the fullest. Outside of nursing and her coaching practice, you’ll often find her pursuing her love of travel and many sports including surfing, kiteboarding, flying, rock climbing, skiing, kayaking and more. This adventurous spirit is a testament to her holistic belief in nourishing not just the mind and body, but the soul as well. Lynsey’s professional and personal journey has equipped her with a unique perspective and a deep well of knowledge in the field of nutrition and lifestyle. She speaks as an expert with valuable insights on the relationship between nutrition and overall health and wellness. Lynsey’s knowledge and evidence-based strategies combined with her holistic approach to nutrition and lifestyle empowers women to not only achieve optimal health but to lead vibrant lives.
The Cognitive Domain focuses on the ability to create and sustain a sense of total control & ability when faced with challenges or moral injury. In the presence of chaos and uncertainty, possibility for flawed judgment increases. Cognitive readiness reduces the effects of the challenges mentioned.
Lataya Hawkins
Dr. Lataya Hawkins is a dedicated U.S. Army Colonel with over 30 years of service. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently stationed at the Medical Center of Excellence, Joint Base San Antonio, COL Hawkins serves as the Associate Dean for the Army Graduate School and Assistant Professor in the Army-University of Kentucky MSW Program. COL Hawkins has held numerous leadership positions across various duty stations, including a deployment to Iraq in 2007.
With more than three decades of service, she has built a distinguished career dedicated to both military and civilian mental health. Her research focuses on critical areas such as moral injury, moral distress, and women’s health, and she has published in these fields. While she is proud of her professional achievements, COL Hawkins considers her most important roles to be those of a wife to Deric Hawkins (married for 14 years) and a mother to her daughters, Gabrielle and Destinee.
The Recovery Focus Area targets sleep and rehabilitation from moral injury of the individual’s brain & body. This supports an individual’s tolerance of repeated exposure to physical and mental stress. Like the rest of the body, the brain has physiological needs for food, water, and oxygen—basic needs that must be met not only to ensure proper brain functioning, but also to sustain life itself.
Monique Capri
is a 20+ year retired veteran of the U.S. Army, Neuroencoding specialist, student Acupuncturist and Minister in training.
Monique is on a mission to fight the suppression of failed systems by equipping us with proven methods to live and embrace our true essence, mind, body, and spirit.
As a consultant, she has enhanced the culture of various organizations domestic and internationally by coaching executives, leadership training, staff development, and resource management. Monique’s journey in life has led her into holistic healthcare. In pursuit of her professional degrees in Acupuncture with specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Pastoral Care, Monique’s goal is to educate and heal; mind, body, and spirit.
Monique is a loving and compassionate woman of God, intentional with her journey in Christ. She’s a mother, a sister, a friend, with great passion for helping others. – This is the true essence of Monique Capri

Caryl Taylor
Mrs. Taylor is a Nationally Qualified Figure Competitor with the National Physique Committee.
She has been competing for 15 years. Her most recent competition was the San Antonio Classic in San Antonio, Texas, where she placed 1st place in all six divisions and took the Open Overall Title and Masters Overall Title. She will compete for her PRO-Card next year and continue to support and mentor working mothers in their pursuit of fitness. Mrs. Taylor recently completed a modeling shoot where she was selected for fitness modeling, which includes billboards, ads, and commercials that include name brands such as Lululemon, Nike, Adidas, and Gym Shark, to name a few. She was also chosen to do Petite Fashion Modeling, and Health and Beauty.
Mrs. Taylor is a wife, mother of two sons, federal employee, and Marine Corps veteran balancing life’s opportunities. Fitness is a top priority for Mrs. Taylor when it comes to health and wellness. Mrs. Taylor has earned her Bachelor of Science in Politics and Law from the University of Texas. Mrs. Taylor’s ultimate goal is to attend Law School in the Fall.

The Spiritual Focus Area targets the ability to endure and overcome times of stress, hardship, and tragedy by making meaning of life experiences. People find meaning as they exercise beliefs, principles, ethics, and morals arising from philosophical, religious, and human values. Individuals who successfully develop, sustain, and repair their state of being while facing adversity demonstrate spiritual readiness.
Amy Barnwell
Meet Amy, our holistic expert lead on spiritual guidance.
Amy Barnwell is the owner and operator of Finally Me Counseling, PLLC. With over two decades of service to individuals, families, and couples collectively in diverse settings, her approach is collaborative and solution-focused. Amy has gained experience and expanded her knowledge base through her studies, training, and experience in her work as an Educator, School Counselor, MTSS facilitator, Mentor, Therapy Manager, Pastor, Military Chaplain, and Therapist. Amy’s education and additional training and includes: a Masters’ degree in School Counseling, a Masters’ in Divinity, Certified Educator-K-12 Spanish (NC) and School Counselor (NC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Spiritual Issues, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Trained (ASIST), Moral Injury, Compassion Fatigue, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Primary Care Provider, Prepare and Enrich Facilitator, and Motivational Interviewing. She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina, and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, Missouri, Florida, and Texas.
